In August we will be focusing on rules, expectations, and classroom procedures! We are also jumping right into the curriculum. The Instructional Focus for the next month is Main Idea. When your child is reading at home try asking them Main Idea questions about the story such as:
What happened before____?
What happened after _____?
If you could come up with a new title for this story what would it be?
What is this story mostly about?
Currently, the Instructional Focus in math is Number Sense. We will be reviewing patterns, and addition and subtraction with regrouping. We will then work on identifying place value and rounding.
